nobody will ever be able to top this album.
I am no stranger to ross sharp and his music, i remember being excited for when rebel came out, back when he used the name tortus for his music, and then when he first started releasing music as ross sharp, and when his albums big smiles club and bandy were still on streaming (put it back please..) throughout all of these 'eras' of sort, never once did i not love the music he was putting out, each song or album he releases is always far better than the last, and then when i think he's finally done it and released true PEAK, he does it again, a million times better and Everything Changes is absolutely no exception.
There is not a single bad song on this album, as i progress further through the album, i am just hit with brick wall after brick wall of emotion, each individual song is so incredibly powerful and moving. While Ross Sharp's music has always been quite packed with emotion, this album just takes it to a whole other level.
Sugarflies, one of the album's singles and the album closer is a perfect example of this, this song is so soul-crushingly devastating, the more i listen to this song the more i think it is very easily the song of the year. Sharp's fragile, quiet vocals paired with the soft and melodic acoustic guitars make it, in my opinion, the perfect 'sad' song, alex g, radiohead, etc aint got shit on ross sharp.
while im so in love with the rest of this album, this song is just so fantastic, and it really really scratches all of the correct spots in my brain, and is so easily my favourite on the album, and perhaps one of my favourite ever.
Other songs like 6/18/25, Locked Me Outta Love and To The Earth, are also incredibly high up there, each of these songs are so insanely good, its really hard to find words, even though im literally supposed to find words for them, but just know that i really really love these songs, and really the whole album.
There is not one aspect of Everything Changes that I think has any room for improvement, the album is mixed incredibly well, Ross Sharp's vocal and instrumental performances are absolutely perfect and work so well with each song, an kai m's feature on Neverbe works so well, their voices go together perfectly and i hope there are more ross sharp songs in the future with kai m!
overall, everything changes is very easily up there as one of, if not THE best album to be released this year, and it really upsets me how criminally underrated ross sharp is, and i hope he finds all the success he deserves.
everything changes gets the first
