The Never Expected (corey pine) - All Pigs Go To Business School

 

Wow.

 

I have heard some shit music in my time (most of it my own..) but this ep was on another level.

 

I really have nothing positive to say about the music on this EP, Corey Pine's vocal and instrumental performances are incredibly lackluster, and I would even say they were bad in certain songs. 

 

This is an incredibly amateur release, which is totally okay, but this feels rushed and as a result it sucks major dick, and like he has no real care for his music at all. It sounds as if he's sat down, and recorded 4 songs onto his voice memos in one take, and plonked the raw m4a files (not even bothering to convert them) into distrokid or routenote or something, and released it as is, without even listening it over. These recordings sound awkward, like he was unsure of what he was really doing and making it up as he went along. They sound like demos rather than complete songs, and he really should have taken the time to properly work on these songs, instead of doing what he did. Because some songs could maybe be listenable if he did continue.

 

One major thing i do not understand about this ep, is the lack of the other members, 'Iris June' and 'Adeline Pinkstaff', who are literally nowhere to be seen anywhere, not on the band's socials, not in any pictures, and im struggling to understand why that is. Do they even exist? If they do, why did he choose not to include them on any of the band's material? and are they even aware of their membership?

 

The music would've been greatly improved if the other members were present (maybe), and i fail to understand why they were excluded!

 

Overall, this is a terrible, poor quality debut and im not excited to see any more music anytime soon. I think Corey Pine needs to go away for a wee bit and develop his skills a bit more, before bothering.

 

EDIT: I KNOW I HAVE HAD BEEF WITH COREY IN THE PAST BUT THIS REVIEW DOES NOT HAVE BIAS!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS AN HONEST REVIEW!!!!!!!
